 Deryni, the routing system relies on presence heavily in addition to the
 gone notifications.  There are really far too many routing scenarios to
 get into here.

 A lot of your concerns seem to have to do more with the *display* of the
 notices ("has left the conversation") to humans rather than just sending
 them.  I do realize that if you stop displaying them in Pidgin and start
 sending them again, buddies using non-Pidgin clients will see a gone
 notice if their client displays them.

 At any rate, once again, we will create a plugin, and thank you for
 replying.
