#10166: Problem with text entry from US International Keyboard
----------------------------------+-----------------------------------------
Reporter: nostok | Owner: rekkanoryo
Type: defect | Status: new
Component: unclassified | Version: 2.6.1
Keywords: editor text keyboard |
----------------------------------+-----------------------------------------
OS: Windows XP SP3
Regional setting: English (United Kingdom)
Keyboard: United States-International
I work in an international environment so require the extended character
sets that include ö, é, á, etc. Normally the above setup allows me to
type the special characters by using keyboard combinations (typing one
character after the other without holding anything down). For instance to
create ö I first press " then press o. Pidgin appears to be the only
application I currently use that does not recognise this behaviour,
normally this would not be an issue but it means at present when I type
"doesn't" it only has "doesn". In other software the "'" appears once I
type the "t".
If there is further testing I can do, or additional information you
require to help resolve this, I would be happy to assist.
