Comment(by Veveve):

''"Why it worked with 2.5.8, and not with 2.6.2? Around the time 2.5.8 was
released, Yahoo was undergoing lots of protocol/server updates, so maybe
this is something that was introduced thereafter."''[[BR]]
 [[BR]]
I understand perfectly what you are suggesting. But... I've opened this
ticket because '''Pidgin 2.5.8 is working fine right now'''.[[BR]]
 [[BR]]
Without modifying any settings to my computer i have uninstalled pidgin
 2.6.2[[BR]]
I kept the pidgin 2.6.2 settings intact. This means that '''most of the
settings''' ''(1)'' present in 2.6.2 will be present in this old version,
 pidgin 2.5.8.[[BR]]
The final step was installing the pidgin 2.5.8 debug version.[[BR]]
 [[BR]]
Now... please''' watch another movie and match the log''' file. [[BR]]'''
This time i'm not asking you to find a solution'''. Just watch... maybe
 think about it.[[BR]]

I tend to think that i have configured my software correctly and i keep
asking myself what i did wrong. Probably... i won't find out :|. I digged
a while and found nothing. So... the only thing left to do is to test this
on other versions of windows and maybe one or two unix based systems using
my accounts. If something interesting will cross my mind i'll let you
 know.[[BR]]
 [[BR]]
 '''Thank you for your time'''.[[BR]]

 ----
 (1) I said "most of the settings" because i noticed that the long list of
predefined statuses was gone and i had only 5 of them available
("Available","Invisible","Busy","Away" and "Offline"). After a few
restarts of the program [while i was setting the things up for the
"movie"] all the predefined statuses re-appeared. (i know this sounds
 weird :|) [[BR]]
