Comment:

 The meanwhile you downloaded is ''not'' the same thing as libsametime.so.
 You would need to check with the Redhat packager about whether pidgin uses
 a systemwide meanwhile or built-in. if it's systemwide, you'd want to
 replace something in /usr/lib64 (probably).
