 No, it doesn't change anything. It's not ''our'' fault.

 It's hard to tell from the backtrace (since it looks like something
 forked), but all Pidgin does is call `gst_init_check()`, which does a
 bunch of things including enumerating and initting whatever gstreamer
 plugins are on the system (and this typically leads to initialization of
 whatever libraries those plugins link against).

 There have been previous instances in which gstreamer (or gstreamer
 plugins) crashed at initialization (or have set global variables that
 interfered with Pidgin's proper functioning).  Again, you should report
 this crash to your distro, as this isn't really a Pidgin issue.
