 Thank you for the suggestions. Guification is the only one I could get to
 work on my Windows PC (XP SP2). It seems quite nice ... but it forces
 notification for all buddies and implementing the suggested enhancement
 would allow users to get notified only when certain buddies change status.
 For example, I have family, friends, and coworkers in my buddy list and I
 only want to get notified when my coworkers change status. The Guification
 roadmap does not seem to include this type of functionality (e.g.
 selective notification).
