 hi all,

 exactly the same problem is bothering me too, i'm using pidgin 2.6.5 and
 2.6.6 on mandriva and ubuntu.
 i tried pidgin, and gmail(win/mac) as clients on the other side, and its
 never working except if both users are in the same lan (or both use
 gmail).

 I opened up as much as possible in the router and tried several routers
 (asus/openwrt/3g).

 was there a solution to this ticket?
 it might strictly spoken be no bug of pidgin, but still makes vv unusable
 for me.

 if you need more debug info, or have  ideas what to test, i'll be happy
 providing whatever is in my capabilities.
