Comment:

 The default settings, which cause Pidgin to attempt to find all the
 information it needs to connect automatically, work fine for the majority
 of users.  It should be very rare that anyone needs to change ports or
 specify the connect server of talk.google.com directly, and "Force old
 (port 5223) SSL" is only needed when connecting on an alternate port such
 as 443.
