 I had a facebook account which password contained a £. and I just kept
 getting "unauthorized" errors on both linux and windows.
 Now that I've changed the password to be only alphanumeric (which,
 sincerly, I don't like too much) pidgin can correctly connect to xmpp
 chat.

 I guess this issue is the same for every other protocol, while I didn't
 tested it.
