 For one it is in the
 [http://developer.pidgin.im/wiki/FAQAllInOne#HowdoIrecallIMsIhavepreviouslysenttotheeditarealikecommandhistory
 FAQ]. For another it has existed in pidgin for ages. For another some
 version of up/ctrl-up/alt-up exists in many "line" based applications.

 That said, it would not be unreasonable to have message sending failure
 messages display a note about being able to recall the message with the
 ctrl-up default binding. As such I'm going to retitle this ticket as a
 request for that to be added.
