 This bug report has been terribly hijacked (and I get quite spammed with
 mails about a GTalk issue which does not interest me the least). Can you
 please create a new bug report for the GTalk stuff? As this bug report has
 nothing to do with GTalk at all. It's about either implementing XMPP
 invisibility (read _XMPP_ Invisibility, __NOT__ GTalk invisibility, which
 is something else!!) or settings the status back to online when connected
 with multiple protocols and invisible is chosen as the global status.
