Comment:

 Previously, I used to be able to clear the entire input area when no text
 was selected via the hotkey. When text was selected, it would clear the
 formatting to the default outgoing format (e.g. if I had it set to Red
 Comic Sans MS size 18, selected text would revert to that).

 Now, it seems to work on a per-line basis and work differently. Try this:
 Copy any 3 lines of chat in a Pidgin conversation.
 Paste that 3 lines into your outgoing message box.
 Put the cursor at the end of the second line (ie: after the last
 character), hit CTRL+R. You'll see it resizes all the text to be your
 default outgoing size.
 Move the cursor to the beginning of the second line (before the first
 character). Hit CTRL+R. It clears the formatting of the second line only,
 making it the default -- except it keeps things ilke boldface, italics,
 etc.
 Similarly with the first line.

 It never used to this before.
