 Ahh, I didn't realize that other software could cause thread problems in
 Pidgin's address space.

 I am running:

 1) McAfee Enterprise (VirusScan+AntiSpyware) -- McAfee Agent version
 4.5.0.1270
 2) Windows Firewall is On.  (Windows XP, Service Pack 3)
 3) Dropbox

 In Pidgin, I have the following plugins turned on:

 - Buddy Notes
 - Buddy State Notification
 - ExtPlacement
 - History
 - Message Notification
 - Pidgin GTK+ Theme Control
 - Psychic Mode
 - Release Notification
 - Windows Plugin Options

 I used to have Guifications (version 2.16) installed, but I disabled it
 and reproduced the problem before submitted the bug report.

 I appreciate your help. Let me know what other information I can provide
 or testing I can do.
