 This enhancement was important to me when it was on the previous ticket.
 The patched dll on that ticket was so useful that I held back upgrading to
 the latest pidgin versions for quite a while.  I eventually decided to
 upgrade anyway, and am now longing for that change.  At the time I only
 had 2 XMPP accounts, but now I currently have 3 (Facebook, Gmail, and
 Hosted Gmail).  With the extra account, this enhancement is even more
 important to me.  It is getting increasingly complex to keep track of
 which is which without some way of telling them apart at a quick visual
 glance.

 I understand the overall mission of a unified UI (ambiguous green balls,
 contact grouping, etc.), but the reality is that although I can mix IM
 protocols together into one app, I still need to be able to chat
 differently depending on the account (e.g. work/personal).
