Therefore I regret to say that the fix you suggested did not work for me (
or there was something I did wrong ).
I installed the 2.7.1, renamed the three original files, and copied in the
ones attached to this ticket.
I then started Pidgin up with the settings I always use, but my Yahoo
account could not get through our firewall :-(
