#11514: setting AIM status to invisible doesn't always show you as offline to
others

I'm using the latest version 2.6.6 on Windows XP SP3. Whenever I set my
AIM status to 'Invisible', one of my buddies shows me as offline (as
expected), but another user can see that I am online even though I am set
invisible. They see a status message of 'invisible' for me, but I appear
online instead of offline. Both users (who are able to see me and not see
me) are also using the latest version of Pidgin. For the user who can
still see me online, it only happens with a specific AIM account of
theirs. If they sign on using a different account name (still using the
same installation of pidgin), then they see me as offline as expected.
This looks similar to ticket #5153 but might be a little different. In my
own pidgin buddy list, if I add my own account, it shows as offline, but
if I do "get info", it says my status is invisible.
I'm attaching a screenshot that shows my buddy list as well as another
user's that can see me as online (when they shouldn't).
Any ideas as to why this is happening? I've asked around on IRC many times
and the only response I get is "other people have said they are
experiencing the same issue".
