 Oh, from your initial description I got the impression that this problem
 only happens between a specific AIM account of yours and a specific AIM
 account of theirs.  But you're saying it happens with other accounts, too?

 I'm also curious... have you tried signing into your account using an
 official AIM client to see if the problem exists there?
