 tilo: Are you using the Message Notification plugin? Do you have the
 "Urgent" hint option on? Do you have fvwm configured to give focus to
 windows that set the urgent hint? Because if you do then the problem is
 exactly a window manager issue since you have told pidgin to set a flag
 that you have told fvwm means "give this window focus".
