 This would also cover #3207, #3804, #1258 (and their myriad duplicates)
 and is actually sort of the cleanest way to handle this sort of thing that
 I can think of. Though has obvious interface issues like not having enough
 space for a real menu, having a menu in an awkward location, etc.
