 I hope this pastes identically without losing whatever non-standard but
 standard looking character is causing the issue - the following URL (From
 http://entertainment.slashdot.org/story/10/03/28/2259243/Battlefield-
 Earth-Screenwriter-Accepts-Razzie - in case it's some foreign character
 not saved properly in the bug report.) has something that causes a pidgin
 chat window to crash as soon as it is pasted:

 http://www.nypost.com/p/entertainment/movies/penned_the_suckiest_movie_ever_sorry_MdXedZpTMWJmfpw80Xc7aO/0

 I assumed my pidgin install was corrupted and reinstalled, but that had no
 effect. So I tested other URL's - no problem. Try this URL? Crash
 instantly.

 P.S. - the link in the preview view still causes the issue, so saved
 version is probably identical.
