Comment:

 It would be interesting to see what the official clients send for that
 character and whether they cause this problem with "Nowe Gadu" as well.
 pidgin may still be doing something not quite right (even if it happens to
 work) but we'd need more information to be able to tell.

 If you want to keep investigating you should feel free to do so and let us
 know what you find, if not that's also fine. I'm going to mark this
 pending so it'll automatically close in two weeks if you don't do any more
 digging but will stay open if you report back.
