 It would be nice to split pidgin into a backend deamon (which could run on
 a headless machine, server, etc), and a frontend (or multiple frontents),
 which would connect to the daemon and act as pidgin acts now.

 so you could have the same accounts/users/logs/etc at multiple locations,
 as long as the daemon is running... and you could use a server for it, and
 if it's on 24/7, you can acvhieve longer uptime, then with just a desktop
 client.

 and as an extra you could connect several frontends at different locations
 (home, work,...) and use the same accounts and see the same un/read
 messages etc.
