 I feel that all conversation, chats, etc. should be logged by default.

 The reason I feel this, is becuase if its on by default, you realize later
 and want to turn it off and delete old logs, that is fairly easy.

 Its certainly easier than not realizing its off, and then looking for logs
 later only then to realize that none was ever created.
