 ya, our sametime admins are not going to make this change either.
 So this is not a acceptable solution, the meanwhile library needs to be
 modified so it sends the correct protocol version number so we can use
 pidgen on 8.5.

 Setting the option to hide client identity does not work in this situation
 either.
