When talking to my contacts, every time a message is exchanged,
"xxx at xxx.xxx is now known as yyyy" appears in the conversation window.
This repeats with EVERY message exchanged, even if the contact has not
changed their name. I only use Pidgin as a replacement for MSN, so I
don't know if this would happen in other protocols as well (although a
quick google search suggests that it does). This does not really affect
functionality, it's just annoying. But because of the frequency of these
messages, it's quite annoying. Is there a way to hide or suppress these
spurious status updates? I don't mind seeing the notice if the person has
indeed changed their friendly name, but only when this info has actually
 changed.

 Tech info:
 OS: Windows 7
 Pidgin: 2.7.4
