 I agree, I would love to see a plugin developed for this! I always forget
 to change my status when I go to a meeting or lunch or whatever. With
 this, I wouldn't have to worry about it.

 An extra bonus would be if Pidgin could pull the alert times from the
 Google Calendar event information, and pop up a reminder or open a new
 chat window.
