 It can confirm the existence of the general issue though not with this
 particular link. I'm on Fedora 14, fully updated, libpurple 2.7.11, no
 plugins enabled. Pasting (1) into any chat window will make pidgin
 completely unresponsive while completely using up one CPU core but never
 crashing.
 Last thing on the debug output is (2) which is just the jabber typing
 notification. Nothing relevant before that.

 In case it matters: while unresponsive, SIGTERM is completely ignored.
 SIGKILL still works.
