Comment:

 Copy/Paste menu items are already available where they are provided by
 GTK+ (e.g. in the conversation window input area and backlog).

 I don't think it is an appropriate solution to work around a GTK+
 misconfiguration or bug by adding menu items to other places.

 It may be that you just need to fix your `gtkrc` so it uses appropriate
 bindings, the [wiki:FAQ] has some information about how to tweak the
 bindings.
