Comment:

OK. Forgive *us* if we seem hostile, but your explanations are unclear
and it seemed like you were wanting to believe you had a different bug,
but describing the bug we already knew about. You may have a different
bug, if you're seeing this without being disconnected.

More detail is better. This explanation is clearer than what you have
given before. We still need more information.

First, tell us what IRC server you're using, whether this happens in every
channel or just one, whether it happens on every server or just one, and
what plugins you have loaded. Then do this:

  1. Disable all of your accounts (from the Accounts dialog).
  2. Quit Pidgin entirely.
  3. Start Pidgin.
  4. Open the debug window (Help | Debug).
  5. Enable *only* the problem IRC account, and join the problem channel
(or let it autojoin, if it autojoins).
  6. Copy and paste the entire debug window contents into a text file.
  7. (Optionally) redact any personal information in the log; please keep
as much of the log as possible, and try to change as little of the nature
of the contents as possible. If a redacted section has funny characters,
odd formatting, etc., please preserver as much as you can.
  8. Upload the log file as an attachment to this bug.

If you can give us enough information to reproduce this bug, that would be
very helpful. If not, the debug log is a good start.

Please try the patch on #14351 if you have the ability to do so.
