 To be clear this doesn't happen when you have the Buddy List window
 visible and doesn't happen when you have the Buddy List window closed to
 the tray icon?

 If the above is correct it sounds like this might be a (surprising)
 Windows 7 feature, but I'm just speculating.

 The debug window isn't retroactive so you would need to have it open
 before any events you wanted to see any information about.
