 I believe the status of SSL support on the servers is spotty. That is I
 believe some servers support it and some do not. I believe the status of
 the server support changed during the ICQ split-off and may still be
 changing. The option was added because it did occasionally work at the
 time. Whether the option should be reconsidered at this point is likely a
 debatable one (one that would likely be better handled on the devel
 mailing list).
