#13340: Connecting to Host/IP using IPv6

I'm currently using JabberD2 2.2.11 (current version) and also the most
recent version of Pidgin for Windows (64-bit Arch, if that matters).

The Jabber server is running perfectly fine. I can start the server,
telnet to the port (telnet fd35:4776:6804:2:1::2 5222) and then issue the
XML commands to create an account, even login and talk via telnet.

However, when I attempt to use Pidgin I set it up using XMPP support and
for the "Connect server:" I have used xmpp.sitegoodies.com which is setup
in my local DNS to be mapped to fd35:4776:6804:2:1::2. I can telnet to
this hostname without any problems and continue to manipulate the Jabber
 server via telnet without problems.

When I attempt to connect using Pidgin it returns "Unable to connect". So
I began checking around and found no problems. I decided to continue using
the same hostname but change the IP to an IPv4 address and retest. This
allowed me to connect without any problems. So I changed it back to the
IPv6 address and again could not connect.

In both cases I watched the Pidgin Debug Window for possible reasons why
this was not working and I've attached my findings. I do not know where to
go from here as everything on my side is resolving perfectly fine, IE:
Telnet, Ping, Nslookup, etc... all good regardless of which IP Type I use.
