 The same issue is present in Linux - Ubuntu 10.04 all current updates,
 Pidgin 2.7.9 from ppa, same smilies theme from andreineculau.com
 I should mention that other GTK applications - let's say Gimp or Firefox -
 can open hundreds of those GIFs simultaneously with much lower CPU usage,
 so I tend to blame Pidgin
