 Gah, that sucks. Do you believe there is any hope of getting the XMPP
 specifications reworked at this point? Because it seems to me, frankly,
 like this is an error on the protocol specifications then. After all it
 doesn't exactly make the whole protocol very reliable in dealing with
 errors.

 On the other hand, I'm clearly a newb, so I might be overlooking how
 complicated a fix would be. Can you tell me in which way XMPP would need
 to be changed so that it would even be possible to fix this bug? Depending
 on how complicated it is, I suppose I could contact the RFC 6120 authors
 and at least give it a shot. ;)
