 The protocol is as reliable as it can be here. The server is supposed to
 be dropping the client sending the invalid data and it isn't, thus
 allowing it to pollute the network and blow up anything that actually
 needs to try to understand the data it is getting. The data isn't valid
 XML (in this context), libxml2 is literally blowing up on us.
