 I keep missing IMs because there isn't enough notification when someone
 wants to chat.  All that happens is the pidgin windows taskbar icon
 background turns blue.  It doesn't flash and a chat window does not
 appear.  My friend who uses an earlier version of windows does not have
 this problem.  For him, a chat window appears and takes focus, so he
 always gets his IMs, and the taskbar icon is highlighted.

 All of the conversation setting checboxes are checked including
 "Flash window when IMs received".
