 I've had this same problem for a while now.  Just found a solution.  I
 searched Google for MSN "passport not verified" and found the following
 page:
 http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-
 us;307294#XSLTH3132121122120121120120
 That page tells me to go to
 https://accountservices.passport.net/ppnetworkhome.srf?vv=1100&mkt=EN-
 US&lc=1033
 and log in.  It will tell you your email account isn't verified and offer
 to send you an email.  Follow the instructions on the email to verify and
 QED.
