 Another common use case is when failed authentication gives you a guest
 nick. In general, we can't enforce others to use /away or changing nicks
 at all. Pop-up notifications like in Guifications would help avoid
 mentioned confusion (for example when someone changes nick as joke). Hence
 I think it narrows down to yet another config option vs. plug-in.

 It would be nice if Guifications themes could hide nick changes and pop-up
 them instead. I've heard v2 could at least pop-up them if theme supported
 but couldn't confirm that.
