Comment(by ShadowChaser):

 I'm having the same issue here.

 One of my contacts always gets "auto-banned" at MSN login. Debug window
 shows "(12:37:52) msn: User emailhere at yahoo.com is on both Allow and Block
 list; removing from Allow list."

 The other contact is using the latest, official Windows Live Messenger
 client for Windows. If I open Windows Live Messenger on my own machine,
 they show up as a regular contact and not banned.

 I've tried unbanning them using Pidgin - I can talk to them then, but they
 re-autoban the next time I reconnect. I've tried removing both of our
 contact entries on each other's official Windows Live clients, then
 logging into www.live.com and manually removing all remaining entries
 there, then manually re-adding via live.com and verifying "friend status"
 has been established. No effect - Pidgin still autobans.

 I've never banned this person, making me think that the fix
 http://pidgin.im/pipermail/commits/2009-February/011751.html failed, or
 had a regression in it. There's likely another problem, and it's definitey
 within Pidgin's MSN plugin. I doubt the "ban list" is even playing a part.
