 Problem:  Gmail buddies not authorized.  Users never get an authorization
 request.  I cannot initiate a chat session ever but can receive them and
 correspond during that session.  "Get Info" while adding buddy resolves
 but as offline and not authorized even when online. I've searched thru all
 the forums and see various so called adjustments resulting in no joy.

 Anyone got a clue?

 Pidgin 2.10.6 Basic Tab
 Protocol:  XMPP
 Username:  xxxxxxx (no domain)
 Domain:    gmail.com
 Resource:  blank
 Password:  xxxxx and is accurate
 Remember Password is checked
 Nothing else on basic tab is checked

 Advanced Tab
 Connection Security:  Require Encryption
 Connect Port: 5222
 File Transfer Proxies:  proxy.eu.jabber.org

 Proxy Tab
 Proxy Type:  Use Global Proxy Settings
