 I'm really glad to have found this ticket.  It seems to closely match the
 situation that we have in our office.

 We open the department chat room and can interact with other users.  We
 keep certain users' tabs open all the time.  We also don't have to go
 through any authorization and buddy-list-add process (we're never going to
 able to sell management on that, no matter the advantage).

 What's displayed on the tab of a user chat spawned from an XMPP chat room
 is 'chatroom at servername.domain/username.'  If we had some way of assigning
 an alias to this user (option grayed out in Conversation menu), we could
 simplify appearance and usage when we have many tabs open.  Even if this
 is a 'local alias,' it would really help.
