 I noticed the same behavior on my end, so I restarted Pidgin a few times
 to experiment. It turns out the offending message only appears when
 attempting to re-run Pidgin when it is already running as an
 administrator, which it of course must be after an installation.

 The message does not appear when running as a normal user.
