 I've downloaded and checked the Windows version. It behaves much worse:
 with the IM off, the initial keystrokes are lost; with the IM on, The
 first character is lost, and what's more, backspace begins to do nothing.
 I have to restart to get my backspace work again.
 The GTK version is 2.22.1, and the OS is Windows XP.
