 This issue is 3 years old, but I am just now experiencing it for some
 reason.  I just got a new computer and installed the latest version on it
 (2.10.6) and then I copied the purple folder from my old computer to this
 one (so I would have the accounts, plugins, and aliases).  The old
 computer has 2.10.4 installed and NOW has the same problem.  It's
 interesting that the problem started when I got pidgin installed on the
 new computer.  I did not make any changes on my yahoo account recently.

 Also when I do get info for any of these contacts, I get:
 Error retrieving profile
 This profile is in a language or format that is not supported at this
 time.

 This must be related somehow.

 Is there some solution?  When can a fix be expected?
