 With respect to (1):
 This should IMHO still be implemented... and I agree with you that it
 should be treated as a full reconnection.

 Actually I guess it MUST be like that, at least I wouldn't know that XMPP
 by itself supports clustering of servers for the same domains.
 ejabberd for example supports this, but apart that from that it shares the
 backend databases,... there is no other XMPP interconnection... so for
 ejabberd it's already like a full reconnect.


 With respect to (2):
 While it was the case when I reported it (and I don't do any special DNS
 caching) I could not reproduce this in the current pidgin versions
 (neither with --force-online nor wihout). So that part can be ignored.
