 Not sure where else to put this, so hopefully this can help.

  In YIM you can have a primary ID (your email address), but you can have a
 number of alternative ID/alias's. There needs to be an option where you
 can set the default ID that you want to use when pidgin connects to the
 server.

  Also Switching ID/alias's is a pain, especially if you want to use two or
 more at the same time. If you've been messaged to a particular alias, it
 should remember which alias you received it as, and allow you to use that
 same alias seamlessly to send message back (unless changed manually). You
 shouldn't get a message to ID 'MyProfile' and reply using an alias of
 'MyAlternateProfile' (Since you're set to the alternate), not only can it
 open multiple windows for you or your companion but it can be confusing if
 they aren't used to seeing that particular ID; Currently you don't know
 which ID the message was sent to.

  When adding/having a permanent contact you should also be able to set a
 default ID/alias that it will use by default when starting new messages
 (rather than the set profile).
