 If changes done in pidgin "must" vanish after reboot, what is the point in
 enabling them?

 Why Facebook contacts groups should be server-enforced? If it is possible
 to change them during runtime, what is the problem about storing this
 settings permanently?

 I think the problem is serious even though it affects only new users. I
 spent half an hour organising my contacts and it's all just gone.
