 Thanks.  I only posted this ticket after uninstalling Pidgin 2.10.7 and
 successfully installing and running 2.10.6 again.  I then installed 2.10.7
 from a new file, making sure to include GTK in case I had missed it
 before.  The same errors occurred.  I was again able to uninstall 2.10.7
 and GTK and successfully install 2.10.6 and GTK and run it without errors.
 '''This''' is when I posted the ticket.

 I've been searching for another '''zlib1.dll''' file.  The initial search
 turned up Pidgin, GTK, and backup files for those systems.  Other sources
 seem to be Miro, Xara Web Designer, and Apple Support programs.  Would any
 of these truly be the problem when they pose no issue for the previous
 Pidgin release?
