Comment:

 This isn't a bug - you don't have the appropriate libxml development
 package installed.

 If you look at the [wiki:BuildingWinPidgin#Libxml2] page, you'll see that
 you need to use libxml2 2.7.4 for Pidgin 2.6.10 and older.

 There are a number of other dependencies that have been upgraded since the
 2.6.10 release.
