 It doesn't seem to be indicated in the documentation, it would be easier
 if you stated clearly somewhere the distros and their versions you want to
 support, so I can look things up.

 It's just that building pidgin today on a sane distro that doesn't rely on
 fossilized versions of packages generates over hundreds of warnings. To me
 that's punishing those distros in favor of the others.
